This policy explains how MOV Dance Theatre ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses personal information when you visit our website, and how we use cookies. We keep this short and plain on purpose.

For any questions about this policy or your information, contact us.
We are the "data controller" for the information described below.
What information we collect
We only collect information in two ways:
1. When you contact us. If you fill in our contact form or email us, we collect the details you choose to give us — usually your name, email address, and whatever you write in your message. We use this only to read and reply to your enquiry.
2. Automatically, when you browse. Like most websites, our site collects some basic technical information automatically — such as your approximate location (country/region), the type of device and browser you use, and which pages you visit. This helps us understand how the site is used and keep it working properly. This information does not identify you personally.
We do not collect payment details, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
How we use your information
We use the information above to:
reply to your messages and enquiries;
keep the website secure and working correctly;
understand, in general terms, how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
Our lawful basis for using this information (under UK GDPR) is our legitimate interest in running a website and responding to people who get in touch, and your consent for any non-essential cookies (see below).
The services we use
Our website is built and hosted on Squarespace, and we use Google services for analytics and fonts. These companies process some information on our behalf as part of providing those services:
Squarespace hosts the website and handles contact-form submissions. See Squarespace's own privacy policy at squarespace.com/privacy.
Google provides website analytics (to show us anonymous visitor trends) and web fonts (to display the site's typefaces). See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
These providers may store data outside the UK; where they do, they are required to protect it to UK-equivalent standards.
Cookies
Cookies are small files saved on your device that help websites work and remember things. Our site uses a small number:
Essential cookies
Make the site work — e.g. remembering your cookie choices and keeping the site secure.No (required for the site to function)
Analytics cookies
Set by Google to tell us, anonymously, how many people visit and which pages they look at.Yes
When you first visit, you'll see a banner letting you accept or decline non-essential (analytics) cookies. You can change your mind at any time by clearing the cookies in your browser settings, or by adjusting your choice via the cookie banner.
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies entirely — search your browser's help for "manage cookies". Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working.
How long we keep your information
We keep contact-form messages and emails only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete them. Analytics information is kept in line with Google's standard retention settings.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
ask us to correct anything that's wrong;
ask us to delete your information;
object to how we use it.
To do any of these, just contact us and we'll help.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can also complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this police
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top.
